GTL (Gas to liquid)
At Ukay fuels we always strive towards quality in everything we do and are conscious of the pressures on the environment.
We are therefore proud to announce our new partnership with Shell and introduce two exciting products. GTL D/GTL G are a diesel and gas oil alternative displaying a cleaner-burn and improving combustion properties over conventional crude oil-based diesel. These help to reduce emissions of air pollutants and support meeting local environmental regulations.
The cleanest-burning fossil fuel
GTL production can help countries with natural gas resources grow their economies as new gas supplies come on-stream to satisfy growing global demand for liquid products.
GTL D (Gas to liquid diesel) is a 'drop in' fuel which can be used directly in conventional diesel engines without the need for modifications, new infrastructure or any vehicle investment, providing a cleaner, greener future.
In order to achieve maximum product potential we recommend that prior to your first delivery you have your tank cleaned. This will enable you to take full advantage of the benefits that GTL D provides.
Construction / Plant
Our alternative fuel for off road vehicles is Green G+, this is a cleaner fuel than gas oil, or FAME (fatty acid methyl ester – biodiesel); it complies with EN15940 & ASTM D97 5.
Unlike biodiesel it does not deteriorate over time and can be used in temperature extremes. Green G+, is a drop-in replacement for gas oil and can be used in all gas oil engines. In order to achieve maximum product potential we recommend that prior to your first delivery you have your tank cleaned. This will enable you to take full advantage of the benefits that Green + provides.
Green G+ is used in the off-road and mobile plant industries. It has been widely adopted in the UK as a drop-in gas oil replacement by: off-road,
marine, and in back-up power applications where it helps to meet the new MCPD requirements.

GTL also has a lower density which is advantageous is some ways (e.g. cold temperature performance). These unique properties enable more efficient combustion at a lower temperature.
GTL’s properties – including its lower density and low water content – make it better at cold starts. The fuel flows and ignites more easily. This reduces emissions at start-up (the time when diesel engines are at their most polluting), reduces the need for engine heating and improves starting reliability.
